Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway role, she was in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The role she played on stage in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel earned her the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actor in the Play. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford spent the majority of her career collaborating with acclaimed actors and directors across the stage, film and TV and she will continue that project with various upcoming ones. Ashford's upcoming project is a limited edition Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. Ashford's Broadway return is scheduled to take place in March 2023 when he stars opposite Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will lead the production. Ashford was Paula Jones, the main actor in Ryan Murphy's upcoming FX program American Crime Story Impeachment. It is based upon the crisis which swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp and other principal characters into the first ever impeachment trial in the United States in more than a century. She was in two seasons on the cult CBS comedy B Positive. It was co-produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda Lavin as well as Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. The role she played as Essie in You Can't Take It with You earned her Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards.
